Galliard è veloce, motivato, ha zanne e artigli così potenti da poter scalfire la crisalide di Lady Teiber, cosa che Eren nota immediatamente, usando la poverina come scudo. Ora a parer mio, senza l'aiuto di due Ackerman, Eren le avrebbe prese e pure solide. Ma voleva bene ai suoi amici e vederli a terra lo fa andare letteralmente in berserk. Insomma, che gli restava se non reggere il thermos e portare i panini? Lui è rimasto a casa a far la calza con la nerd e il Warchief che parla solo per enigmi, per altro senza avere nemmeno un gigante. Ma Galliard non è sveglio come noi e ci crede, si ricorda dei suoi due amici in questa singola immagine di flashback e io ho immaginato questo deluso giovane Galliard che è rimasto a casa mentre suo fratello è partito per il fronte assieme a quella pappamoscia di Braun. Pieck è caduta e lì, alle spalle di Eren, c'è il corpo SENZA VITA del Beast Titan (sicuro Zeke, vincitore del Razzie Awards per il Peggior Attore Protagonista!). Le forze di Marley stanno ancora cercando di riprendersi da questo assalto e Galliard, che nel numero scorso avevamo lasciato nel suo slancio eroico contro Mikasa, nell'atto di vendicare la morte di Bertholdt, se ne sta rendendo conto. If the battle really ends here, we might even actually get some complex black characters. Actual complex black characters would be nice, but at least that issue is alleviated a little bit because at the very least from the few we’ve seen, they’re not stereotypes.
This whole thing is basically people looking past prejudice and a sum of minorities standing up to a horrible corrupt regime, which is kind of great, no? Isayama is also actually subverting the dead black people trope, which is very neat. This works equally for the East Sea Clan people or any other side in the conflict, if they’re also working together with Paradis.
The people inside the walls are now working together with and respecting those they are responsible for hurting and vice versa. Number 2, in the Uprising arc we learn that all other races inside the walls were wiped out to control the population better (as they were immune to the mind control of the First King), but because this story is partially about racism, this is a great display of “growth”.
